Abstract

The electrical connection electrode is capable of accepting up to three insulated wires having either solid or multiple strand conductors. The connector breaks through the insulation and is formed from pressed sprung conducting material and consists of three laminations. One lamination (41) acts as a bearing surface against which the wire (52, 53) or wires are forced by the sprung inverted 'U' of the cutting and contacting blades (42). In the released posn. the blades are spaced for a distance along the bearing surface by a gap slightly less than that of the wire conductor dia. The distance may be short forming a 'V' or a 'U' shape or about half the surface length. The first wire is pressed beyond the gap length, the blade free end moving back to its initial posn. for the second wire. Connection can also be made at the opposite end of the electrode accepting a third wire.
