Abstract

The box for holding six eggs in the usual manner, has a base (1) made of moulded transparent plastics, and a cover (2) erected from a blank made of cardboard. The base has funnel shaped pockets (4) to hold the eggs, each pocket having sloping sides, and connected to a flat region (3) by a short vertical wall (5). These verticals each incorporate a spherical protuberance (6) to locate the egg. Along the sides and corners are sloping pillars (12), open downwards, each with a flat external side piece (15). There are similar end pillars (9) and central pillars (10). The cover is attached to three pillars. The cardboard top, which can be printed, is economical and can incorporate a tear strip.
