Abstract

The heating control system has a control module turning the heater on and off at intervals. The length of each interval depends on the ambient temp. desired and on the effective temp. at the height of a thermostat connected to the heater. An external temp. sensor is connected to a central control unit that can generate a voltage varying linearly with the difference between the external temp. and a set reference temp. The central control unit has a single output line leading to all heaters. Each heater has a power limiter responding to the magnitude of the central control unit's output voltage. The central control unit's output voltage is generated by an amplifier whose input is connected to a bridge containing the external temp. sensor. The reference temp. is set by a potentiometer in the central unit. Another potentiometer sets the slope of the linear change in the limited voltage.
