Abstract
The weapon firing and aiming training system for tanks etc. includes a distance simulating method using an optical sight and establishing the coordinates of various points. The line of sight and the point of impact tare determined by measuring a set of angles using the sighting device. The exact distance between the target and the sighting device is also determined. The instantaneous position of the sighting device is determined by using known reference points such as trees or buildngs, which are included in the calucations. The intersection points of a number of beams of radiation are used, and also multiple echoes resulting from different impact points. The calculating system uses a calculator connected with a memory which stores numerical information corresponding to the target area and data corresponding to the coordinates and directional values.
