Abstract

Liquefied gas is stored in a container and sealed with a spring loaded valve. When the gas is needed a fitting is fixed to the container with a needle valve to control the flow. The body of this fitting is surrounded by a sleeve with an external screw thread and has flexible hooks extending from its lower end. These hooks can be moved radially inwards to grip a collar on the container by screwing down a nut which pushes an outer sleeve over the hooks. At the same time an internal tubular fitting opens the valve in the container.
