Abstract

A pneumatic hammer for driving nails or rivets has a valve (10) fitted inside the cylinder head (3). The valve has a central bush made of metal or rigid plastic which is surrounded by a layer of an elastomer with a low coefficient of friction. This layer of elastomer has an upper and lower circumferential lip which form seals with the corresponding bores of the valve guide (11).
