Abstract

Semisynthetic aminoglucosides of formula (I) are new. In (I), R is H or OH; R1 is -CH2NH2, -NHCH CH2-CH2OH, -NH-CH2CHO or -NHCH2(OCH)-3)2. (I) are antibiotics, active against Gram positive and negative bacteria and have a greater activity than known aminoglucoside antibiotics, esp. against resistant strains. They also have a low toxicity.
