Abstract

The pipe is supported on rollers (8) at each end, one roller being driven by a motor (9) so that it is rotated horizontally about its axis. During rotation, an applicator shell (10) mounted on a wagon (31) travelling on wheels, deposits the wet cement mixture (11) on the outside. The shell has a parallel cylindrical portion (19) at one end, with wheels (20) inside for travelling on the outside of the pipe, and a conical portion (25) the other end which determines the coating layer (2) thickness. Between these portions is a hopper containing the mixture, which allows the mixture to fall down under its own weight onto the outside of the tube.
