Abstract

The machine has one or more endless elevator chains (7, 8) running round a pair of sprockets and in a vertical plane oblique to the travel direction of the machine (2). Collectors (16) are mounted under the lower end of the elevator, feeding the fibres (4) to it. There can be two parallel elevator chains, offset from each other so that their lower ends are aligned parallel to the direction of the fibres, which can be delivered to them by a rotary pick-up mechanis. A landwheel (14) determines the ground clearance of the elevator chains.
