Abstract
Segmental pieces (1, 2) each subtending 180 deg. and 150 deg. respectively, are connected by an offset fork hinge (3, 4) to form a scaffolding clip. A fork hinge (14, 15) on the free end of the piece (1) secures a strap fastener (11) which enters a fork in the corresponding end of the piece (2), the strap being secured at closure by an imprisoned cotter pin (19) in a slot (18). The two hinge pinds (0, 0') align on the dia. of the closed clip, and at closure the strap axis (0.F) subtends an acute angle inside the tangent (O.G) to the relevant hinge. At closure the pin holds the clip in a stressed state on a scaffolding tube, and may have a tapered laminar form.
