Abstract

A handle and spindle support a cutting tube, the handle also supporting a blade parallel to the spindle. The cutting tube also supports a radial blade, the latter having a tapering triangular cross-section with the apex pointing downwards. In a further design, several blades can be provided on the tube, only the one farthest from the handle having a triangular cross-section. The single radial blade can be supported at its outer end by location in an aperture in the axial blade. The assembly can be used for cutting the flesh from e.g. pineapples without damaging the skin.
