Abstract

Air conditioning equipment which is for railway vehicles fed by high voltage (600 - 3000 volts), drawn from the power supply. An induction motor driven fan cools the auxiliary supply equipment. The conditioning equipment has an induction motor driven compressor for refrigeration equipment, a fan driven similarly to force air through distribution ducts. The control is done by varying the frequency or voltage of the auxiliary supply to obtain the correct conditions. There are also electric heaters, fed from the auxiliary supply. All the control is monitored by sensors.
