Abstract

The adjustment mechanism for a car seat is particularly intended for folding down the front seat of a two-door car. The seat is mounted on slide pieces (16) and incorporates a locking mechanism with a catch (17). The catch is locked in position on a fixed rack (18) with regularly spaced notches (19) and released by a lever (25). A link (20) is hinged at one end (21) to a part (3) of the back of the seat, and supports the catch at its other end. The seat-back piece has a pivot (4) and a locking and release mechanism (6).
