Abstract

Compsn. comprises as active components (a) N'-(3-chloro-4-methoxyphenol)-N,N-dimethyl urea (I) or N'-4-isopropylphenyl-N,N-dimethyl-urea (II) and (b) 2-tert. butyl-4,6-dinitrophenol or its salts. (I) (I) or (II) and (III) may also be applies separately. The compsn. are desiccants and defoliants for plants such as hemp, lucerne, rape, flax, tomatoes, soya, peppers, peas, turnsole, cereals, clover, cotton, vines, sesame and esp. potatoes. They can also be used for general defoliation of nurseries and trees. They have rapid defoliant action without causing any damage to the plant, e.g. "brown rings" in potatoes.
