Abstract

Electroluminescent fancy jewel in the shape of a necklace wherein the different elements of electronics and the standard components of jewellery are spread along the necklace and connected together by electrical wires (6). The electrical wires concealed in the pearls have a double function: the function of a thread of a conventional jewellery necklace and the function of a connection between the different electronic elements spread along the necklace. The piece of jewellery is composed of energy sources concealed in special pearls (2) of the necklace, conventional pearls (5), luminous pendants (4), and a control logic located either in the pendants or in a special pearl (1). If, for an aesthetic reason, the logic is located in a non-luminous component of the necklace, then the outputs of the logic block must be connected to the electroluminescent diodes of the luminous part (4) of the jewellery by several wires, generally very thin. The system of mechanical connection (3) protects these wires and provides the liaison between these two parts while letting them some freedom. There are two kinds of pearls which conceal the energy source: those which can be transversed by power supply wires for the different electronic parts of the necklace and those which cannot. The invention can be used for producing the electroluminescent fancy jewels in the shape of a necklace wherein the electronic parts are concealed in certain pearls and in the pendants of the necklace.
