Abstract

An homogenous mixture of petrol and air is passed through one or more static turbines comprising blades in one or more stages (25,25') each stage being of opposite pitch to the previous one. The blades can be arranged to divided the mixture and impart a rotary movement to it. Dispersion of one ingredient can be affected by shear loads which are the sum of friction forces generated by the blade surfaces and the shearing action caused by reversal of the direction of rotation in the following stage.
