Abstract

In the prodn. of snow by expansion of water under pressure, compressed air is dissolved in the water. An appts. consists of a tube fitted with a nozzle and having connected to it a pipe feeding air at a greater pressure than atmospheric and a pipe feeding water under pressure contg. dissolved air. This soln. is obtd. by means of a pipe feeding compressed air penetrating into the pipe feeding water and opening into a space bounded by two parallel porous plates and an end plate. The appts. gives now which is drier, lighter and of better quality than existing appts., because of the replacement of a feed of water under pressure by a feed of water under pressure contg. dissolved air.
