Abstract

Linen is washed in a machine solely by means of the passage of water under pressure, without any other mechanical means. The water used is that normally available in buildings. The passage of the water under pressure is alternated by a series of partial drainings (about ten) followed by refilling back to the starting level, so that the operations is carried out for the necessary time at the optimal pressure. The machine may be of the normal capacity or be portable so that it can be lifted on to a sink. All the necessary fittins are provided to feed, mix and drain, to dissolve the detergent and give security againts excess pressure, etc. An electro-mechanical or an electronic control system is provided.
