Abstract
The heat accumulator in an installation converting with power into heat is formed by a quantity of water enclosed in an insulating vessel. The mechanical energy produced by the windmill is converted into thermal energy by a hydraulic brake, which uses silicone oil, and the mechanical power absorbed by the brake amts. closely to a relationship represented by the cube of the speed of rotation of the wind driven mechanism. The brake consists of a rotor with radial vanes turning on an eccentric in the manner of a liq. annulus pump.
