Abstract

A die plate (2) for deep drawing of sheet metal components is located on a support ring (4). The support ring includes a hydraulic cushion against which the draw punch (3) is displaced. The sheet metal blank is provided with a radial flange which is trapped between the top face on the die plate and a clamp ring (1) above. Corrugations (5) in the facing sides of the clamp ring and die plate ensure that the hydraulic oil in the support ring does not escape along the clamped flange of the blank.
