Abstract

Apparatus for detecting nuclear magnetic resonance in gases comprises a cell containing the gas in which a stationary and alternating magnetic fields are propogated. The cell is pumped with light from a source (38) through a light guide (36). Pumping light transmitted by the gas in cell (28) not blocked by nuclear resonance induced by the fields is carried over light guide (24) to an optical analysis device (14) to (22).
