Abstract

Appts. for supporting equipment in laboratories and work rooms, partic. clean rooms, e.g. rooms in which semiconductor components are studied and produced, comprises a succession of welded gantries each constituted of two vertical uprights joined by horizontal cross-pieces. Parallel vertical removable panels are fixed to the gantries so as to close the spaces between the uprights, to stiffen the uprights and to constitute vertical walls of a services gallery passing between the two uprights of each gantry and having a lower part for access and maintenance and an upper part for fluids distribution. The uprights carry racks for hooking on a whole range of work units outside and inside. These can be supported by metal brackets fitted with the means of hooking them on the racks. They include working surfaces, cupboards, boxes allowing filtered air to be blown over a working surface, hoods. Controls may be grouped on a desk to operate the equipment in the services gallery, e.g. pumps, valves.
