Abstract

The connector block for high frequency wave guides is capable of carrying energy of the order of a kilowatt. In the block which has a waveguide channel (16) are two fingers or shutters (27, 28) which act to switch the energy. The shutters are moved to and fro by electromagnets, blocking the passage while no current is passed, and allowing passage while they are energised. The shutters may be used to protect radar equipment, shutting off the receiver while the transmitter is functioning.
