Abstract

The loading ramp forms a conveyor track between a ship and a quay. It consists of a frame with long and cross-members, having two lengthwise main beams. To increase the ramp width continuously, from the centre toward one end one or both of these beams are bent outwards. The bent beam comprises an upper and a lower member, while ribs extend between the main beams to support a sheet-metal travel track etc. The upper member of the bent main beam (14) comprises two straight components (21, 22) joined by a hinge (26), the axis of which (x'-y') is in line with the apex (20c) of the bend in the main beam.
