Abstract

The prefabricated modular unit of uniform hollow polyhedral cross-section is for use in building structural walls, the resulting walls having a decorative finish and insulating properties. The unit (1) may be of precast concrete and may have an equilateral triangular cross section. A wall may be built by initially placing a row of units each with a side horizontal on a prepared formation and with arrisses (2, 4) adjacent. An inverted unit is then placed in the trough between each level unit to obtain a horizontal surface (20) for the succeeding course. The horizontal projection of individual or groups of units may be varied to obtain alternative decorative facades, and the units may also be utilised with their longitudinal axies vertical.
