Abstract

The marking machine has a high output and comprises a pad which transfers the inked impression from a steel engraved plate onto the article to be marked. This is effected automatically by means of pneumatic cylinders. The inking head (20) has a reciprocating motion and includes a blade (38) immersed in the ink bath (40). This blade drags ink over the surface of the engraved plate (36). At the end of its stroke, the head pivots (39) and a scraper (37) contacts the plate surface. On the return stroke, surplus ink is returned to the ink bath.
