Abstract

An indexed turntable is used in cutting cakes or similar into any number of equal segments, the table comprising a horizontal disc (2) mounted free to rotate on a horizontal board (1). The board has radial reference lines (3) including a datum (3a), the lines having numbers indicating the corresponding number of segments. The lines (3) converge on the vertical axis (x-y) about which the table (2) rotates, a piece being cut by incisions extending the datum line (3a) and the corresponding segment line (4). The table (2) may be let into the board (1) with an integral axle pin in a bush set in the board.
