Abstract
The system for measurement of ionisation of a gaseous medium has three concentric tubes. The outer tube (10) is connected to earth and forms a screen. The intermediate tube (11) is raised to a biassing voltage. The inner or measuring tube (12) is connected to a measuring instrument. Means are provided for mounting and interchanging the inner tube. A pump is used to fill the annular space between the intermediate and measuring tubes with the gaseous medium. The gaseous flow is controlled.
