Abstract

The cathode ray tube has its screen provided with a concave outer surface to prevent the viewer's attention being distracted from the picture by reflections of external bright objects. The radius of curvature of the outer surface is determined by the degree of reflection exclusion required and bears a specified relationship to the viewer's distance from the screen, the screen's size and the shortest focal length of the human eye.
