Abstract

The headlight unit for motor vehicles has reflector and incandescent filament lamp. The front lens is inclined backwards relative to the vertical plane. This lens matching the stream lined shape of modern cars meets the legal requirements. The front lens has first sector (24) with cylindrical lenses (27) parallel to the vertical plane (28). This first section is arranged on the lens (15) half facing away from the oncoming traffic. The second sector (25) is arranged above the first sector (24) and second sector has also cylindrical lenses (31) which converge downwards to the vertical plane and are at an angle so that the dipped light beam (18) illuminates the edge (39) of the oncoming traffic track.
