Abstract

A centrifugal pump is built up from three stainless steel pressings (1, 2, 3). The pressing (1) forms the housing for the rotor (12), and the other two house the bearings for the shaft (6). One bearing housing (2) has a flange with a recess for an O-ring seal between it and the rotor housing (1). The bearing housing (4) also has a recessed flange for an O-ring which forms a seal with the other bearing housing (2). The three parts are held together by a V-clamp (15). Using stainless steel allows the pump to be used with corrosive fluids.
