Abstract

The ballpoint pen has a hollow shank with a reservoir filled with ink based on aq. solution. At the forward end of the shank is a nib incorporating a ball-holder, an ink guide, and an ink guide bar holder. The ball-holder contains a ball (7), a bal seat (8) of truncated-cone section, a recess (9) formed between ball and inner wall, and a shoulder (10) holding the ball in plane. The ink guide has a central drilling (12) connecting ball- and guide bar-holders, and a number of radial grooves (13) emanate from the drilling, both grooves and drilling leading to the ball-holder. Their rear ends lead to the bar-holder, which has a cylindrical bore accommodating the bar and connected to them.
