Abstract

The amplification system for an audio unit comprises a preamplifier and an amplifier, allowing separation and amplification of the bass range at the preamplifier level. The medium and high ranges are transmitted to the amplifier stage without preamplification. Pref. the separation of the different range is obtained using these active filters, comprising one low-pass filter and two high-pass filters, each with a Chebycher filter response with one decibel max. deviation within the pass band. Each active filter comprises a bipolar transistor and associated resistors and capacitors.
