Abstract

The vehicle trim strip (1) which also acts as a hinge for e.g the l id of a luggage boot besides being suitable for concealing joints, also acts as a buffer strip. It can be an extruded strip of aluminium or other metal, with each edge (3) raised, and ending in a spirally rolled part (4). The boot lid (10) or other tilting member has a strip (9) attached with a hooked edge (7) which fits inside the spirally rolled edge. The outside face of the main strip (3) is recessed, with a tongue (5) pointing inwards each side. This forms a chamber into which can be fitted a thick buffer strip (13) with corresponding tongues (14) which fit under the tongues (5) of the main strip.
