Abstract

The surgical prosthesis replaces an aortic valve and comproses a biological tissue (A) shaped between a punch (2) and die (1). The latter has three equidistant cusps (12) with flutes (11) between and the centre of the diameter recessed. The inner faces of the cusps are grooved (13). The punch as configuration matching the die and the tissue is placed between them. A threaded rod (15, 18) passes through the punch into the die and nut (30) is used to close them. The valve tissue is sewen into position, the edges finally trimmed and the tool is removed.
