Abstract

Detection and localisation of faults in a multiplexed network for transmission of digital data is performed by test unit. This enables the digital data channels to be exchanged and indicates fault by anticoincidence word. Data arrives at distribution unit (8) via junctions (J1-128) where it is multiplexed and demultiplexed. Each input channel connects via independent connecting modules (A1-7, B1-7) to transmission line. A control assembly (5) permits changes to be made and processes faults. Comparators (C1-7) produce anticoincidence signals for register (4) when fault is present. This signal is presented to tester assembly (6) which determines functional condition and produces respective signal.
