il s'agit d'engendrer une tension alternative Vo de fréquence constante Fo et d'amplitude constante vo aux bornes d'une charge 1 à partir d'un arbre 2 tournant à vitesse variable On utilise un alternateur à fréquence F1 très supérieur à Fo dont l'inducteur 3 est entraîné par l'arbre 2 et est excité par une tention continue asservie à vo et dont le stator induit hexaphasé 5 comporte des enroulements en étoile équipés chacun de prises (a1 , a2 , a3 ; b1 - f3 ). Ces prises sont reliées à un filtre 6 alimentant la charge à travers successivement des redresseurs (R1+ ... R3 - )et des interrupteurs (A1 + ... A3... ) dont les fermetures successives sont commandées selon un cycle de fréquence Fo . Application préférée : alimentation d'un équipement de bord d'aéronef à partir de l'arbre d'un moteur d'entraînement de cet aéronef.
