Abstract

The roof covering uses laterally lapped bands (1, 2, 3) with transverse surface grooves at intervals to simulate the joints of tile or single construction. The bands (1) are normal to the pitch of the roof and their lower longitudinal edges step down onto the surface of the succeeding band (2). Each band has a continuous heel (6) projecting from the underside of its top longitudinal edge, and attaching to clips (10) fixed to the purlins (12). The underside of the lower longitudinal edge has two parallel triangular ribs (8) which engage reciprocal grooves (9) on the top edge surfaces of the tile below. The transverse joints between bands may be flush-rebated with double trapezoidal tongue and grooving, and the band may be locally thicked to accommodate the false joint grooves.
