Abstract

The constant-pressure printing mechanism is for hand-labelling machine, having an operating lever (10) swinging in the frame between the operative and release position. This moves a printing head (9) to a from a pivoting press plate (39), which is spring loaded (34) towards the head. A lever (20) pivoting on the operating lever engages at one end in the recess (17) of a pivoting hock (16), and at the other holds part of the press plate back. The hook is spring loaded (19) into engagement with the second lever (20), whose other end can be released from the plate by a mechanism (25). As the operating lever nears the working position, the one end of the second lever is released from the hook and thus the other one from the plate. The latter is then tilted at constant pressure against the printing head, so that printing pressure is independent of that on the operating lever.
