Abstract

The tear-off lid has a lid part (4, 4a) bounded by a main line (3, 3a) of weakness. Fastened to the said lid part is a pull ring (7) which when it is pivoted upwards uses a projection (7a) to press the lid in along part of the line of weakness. By pulling the pull ring the entire lid part (4, 4a) can then be torn off. The two parallel ends (3a) of the line of weakness end in an impressed transverse bead (5) of the lid. This prevents the lid part (4a) from being torn off further. This means prevents the lid part (4, 4a) from being able to be removed from the container and thrown away separately, an action which, for example, on bathing beaches could lead to injuries.
