Abstract

The frame system is particularly for a spacecraft stabiliser system, the frame being mounted by spring-type universal joints so that it can turn in a housing. The frame and housing have mating support surfaces, preferably conical, and a detachable clamping mechanism with connections is provided. In the locked position the connections engage between frame and housing so as to clamp them together. The mating faces between connections and frame or housing, and/or the support surfaces, can be so designed that any external forces acting on them are converted into frictional energy.
