Abstract

The basin (1) which can be square or of any other cross section is mounted either in the sea or connected to it. The hollow float (5) which is mounted in the basin can move up and down. The bottom (2) of the basin is located above the level of low tide (N). The top (4) of the basin is just above the high tide level. The float has an opening (8) through which it can be filled with seawater or emptied. Chains (16, 21) which are attached to the float, extend upward and downward and run over chain wheels (17, 22) which drives a shaft. The shaft is connected to a generator. Arrangements are provided, with which the valve on the opening in the float can be controlled, and to secure the float at its highest point a high tide.
