Abstract

The sports shoe(1) has the upper(3) split where it is fastened and a tongue(8) which closes the split underneath. The top of the tongue is held in place by an adhesive band(9) interposed between the exterior face of the tongue and the interior face of the upper. The adhesive band may consist of fabric with small hooks attached to one of the faces, the opposite face being a material to which this can easily adhere, such as rough leather or fabric. The two faces can have complementary auto-adhesive bands and these can be fixed just at the edges of the split.
