Abstract

The deep freeze cabinet (1) is fitted with a turntable which carries a number of racks (2) arrang ed around its periphery. The racks support trays mounted one above the other so that there is a passage-way for air between the trays. Evaporators equipped with fans are mounted in the roof of the cabinet. These fans draw air from the central chimney (5), formed by the surrounding racks and deliver it to the space outside the turntable so that a continuous circulation through the racks is maintained. The food being frozen is transferred from the conveyor (11) to one of the racks and the removed after the turntable has made one complete revolution.
