Abstract

The heater has a base plate (1) with a side plate (2) screwed (4) to a wall (3). Spacers (5) leave an air gap (6) between the plate and the wall. There is an electric heating coil (13) above the base plate (1) and an emitter dish (11) is between the base plate and the coil. The upper surface of the dish has a finish which captures and reflects infra red radiation from the coil. An annular guard ring (26) round the dish prevents radiation escaping outside the heater. The receptacle (21) to be heated is supported above the coil (13) on three lugs (20) projecting internally from the annular ring. It is held by a clamp (8) hinged from the side plate (2).
