Abstract

L'invention concerne un diaphragme vaginal comprenant un organe mince en forme de coupe configuré en dôme ayant un pourtour anulaire raide mais élastique pour former un engagement d'étanchéité avec les parois du vagin, ce diaphragme étant suffisamment flexible pour permettre aux côtés opposés de son pourtour d'être pliés pour faciliter l'insertion dans le vagin. L'invention s'applique notamment à la contraception.Disclosed is a vaginal diaphragm comprising a thin cup-shaped dome-shaped organ having a stiff but resilient anular circumference to form a sealing engagement with the walls of the vagina, the diaphragm being sufficiently flexible to allow opposing sides of its around the edges to be folded to facilitate insertion into the vagina.
