Abstract

A flexible sleeve coupling is in the form of a cylindrical tube of resilient material with radial reinforcement. Flanges at each end of the sleeve are clamped to flanges of two units between which the fluid is to be carried. The flexibility of the coupling is to ensure that the weighing operation is not influenced by the attachment to a fixed pump. In this addition, the coupling now comprises a one-piece, thin-walled, tubular sleeve, cylindrical at each end to sleeve joint externally onto the hub of a flange plate. Between the ends of the sleeve, the wall has a considerable radial flexibility. The new coupling is much shorter than its predecessor, but has much greater radial flexibility so that there is no danger of incorrect weights despite the more compact design.
