Abstract

The panels are cut to right angles and each panel is fitted with one or more edge strips (11). Each edge strip has an angular section with a blade (7) extending from the centre of one of the sides of the angle. The blade is driven into the edge of the wood to fix the two together. The opposite side of the angle of the edge strip is fitted with screw holes (9a) for the screws (9) which may be fitted into a dowel or slot (3) in the box beam (1) which forms another edge. The blade (7) may also have serrations to increase the fixing power.
