Abstract

The diaphragm valve contains a cylindrical, expandable diaphragm body (4) in the form of a capsule which is secured by a flange (5) formed on its open end on an inner shoulder (2) of the housing (1). A cylindrical valve tappet (12), which can be displaced vertically within the valve body (4) by means of an actuating part (13), is supported on a metal plate (7) which rests against the inside of the end (35) of the diaphragm body (4), which end acts as a closure element. When the actuating part (13) is rotated in the direction of the closure of the valve, the diaphragm body (4) is extended by means of the valve tappet (12) until the outside of its end (35), said end acting as the closure element, closes the throughflow opening (3).
