Abstract

The electric toaster has a control mechanism for the movable bread holder which operates by means of a resetting spring (9) which has a delay mechanism. This has a blocking switch mechanism whose spring motor consists of the resetting spring (9) of the movable holder. One (6) of the elements of the kinematic chain which connects this spring to the servo wheel of the switch mechanism is in positive engagement with the bread holder. The kinematic chain can contain a control lever (23) whose axis of rotation (22) is connected to the servo wheel and lies on a path which runs through the element (6) connected to the holder. When the holder is drawn along into the operative position given by the resetting spring, the element displaces the lever to which it is hooked so that the motor force of the spring is then connected to the switch mechanism by the element (6) and lever (23).
